Hogmanay is a special time of year in Scotland and there is always plenty to see and do. A lot depends on the weather at the New Year and snow is always desireable but even if you require a raincoat instead of your thermals it is always fun to be out socialising.
The hotel hosts a Supper Dance on Hogmanay and this year the entertainment is by a Ceilidh Band called Yousedancin. A five piece Ceilidh band with professional caller, Yousedancin' features electronic pipes amoungst its instruments.
The dance is open to residents and to the general public by pre-booking the number of tickets required. Tickets cost £40.00 and include a 2 course supper with tea/coffee, the dance - with Piper to see in the New Year - and a dram at the bells. The dance ends at 1 am.
Residents in the hotel can then enjoy tea, coffee, sandwiches and Christmas cake in the reception foyee prior to retiring to bed.
On the evening of the 1st January there is live music in the cocktail bar (open to the public) and this is always a busy night. This year a band called "Kinell" will be playing. Music varies from Blues and Rock to music from the 70's and 80's. It can be a night for ear defenders!
No meals are served on the 1st January except Bar Lunches (12.00 - 2.00pm) and a Buffet for Residents Only in the evening.
Hogmanay 2010
2 Nights bed and breakfast for the 31st December and the 1st January 2010, including the Hogmanay Dance, Buffet for residents on the 1st followed by the live music in the Cocktail Bar comes to a total of £300.00 for a double or twin room or £190.00 for a single room. Family rates on application
